Well, here we are. May 29th--my first last student day. June 1st--my first final teacher day. A few months ago, I never thought I'd see this day. I was that "no tired like teacher tired" teacher. As a first-year teacher, I had never experienced the latter half of May. In college we were always done the first week of May and then said so long to our students. Well, there
- I was going to have to say goodbye to my first class of my own.
- I was going to have to tell my class that they wouldn't be able to say hey to me in the hallway on their way to their sixth grade classes.
- I needed to pack up and move everything out of my classroom.
- I had to say 'goodbye' to my 5th grade teammates who are some of my closest friends now.
- I have to assemble a new classroom.
- I am moving from 5th grade to kindergarten!
I am so thrilled about moving to kindergarten. This has all happened so fast and I am so excited for this new journey. A few weeks ago I was beginning to plan next year in 5th grade. I was asked to interview in my home district where I went to school. (SO EXCITING) In literally a few short days, I had went from a 5th grade teacher to a kindergarten teacher. My heart is and always will be in the primary grades! My kindergarten position is literally and figuratively home. I have such a fabulous (for real--amazing!) team to work with in kindergarten and in the school!
Be on the lookout for some new classroom pics and a quick blog re-design!
Have a FABULOUS summer break!
