Peek at Testing...I mean...my Week {April 27th}

Hey, y'all! Here's a short post for ya! I feel like I am preparing for Space Jam right now...aka "Here's your chance, do your dance at the Space Jam." I have absolutely no idea where that came from, but that is my April-Teacher-Brain. My plans are complete and all I see is ISTEP+.....ISTEP+.........and more ISTEP+. We have reached the final round of ISTEP+ and we are as ready as we can be! Our week will be spent taking ISTEP+, lots of GoNoodle brain breaks, and fun social studies and science activities! We are taking our tests on our iPads this year. We are so blessed to have such an amazing tech team, so I am hoping, praying, and crossing my fingers and toes that this can run as smoothly as possible. I have teamed up with a few other teacher bloggers to do something special this week, so check back on my Instagram tomorrow evening to check it out! Here's a peek at my week! As you can see there's lots and lots of colorful print. Gotta make something look cheerful in my room as we cover every bulletin board and their brother up.

Have a fabulous week!

Peek at my Week {April 19th}

We have a busy, busy week in Room 108! We have ONE WEEK until ISTEP+ Round 2 begins. This round is all computer-based. We are busy reviewing and spiraling all of our learning during the next few weeks. We have a crazy testing window and fitting in all the times for the tests was a challenge. All of our grades are taking the test at different times--pure craziness. In all of that craziness, 5th grade decided to help out and take the test on our iPads. We are the only grade to take the test on our iPads and this will be the kids' first time taking it on their iPads as well. Crossing my fingers and toes that we will have zero only a few minor problems!

Here is a Peek at my Week for April 19th:

With Earth Day this Wednesday, I was so happy I found the Mystery Earth Day Word Work by Ladybug's Teacher Files. My kids love the weekly Morphology Word Work, so I knew we had to try this out. It will be so fun to see how they act as scavengers to unscramble and come up with the best Earth Day plan.

Hopefully the weather is getting nicer and nicer where you're at. We are FINALLY seeing green grass! :)

What do you have planned this week?

Five for Friday {Linky Party - April 10th}

Happy Friday, y'all! I decided to link up for my FIRST Five for Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching

I. Cannot. Stop. Staring. at my blog! I am so PLEASED to announce (and show off) my BRAND NEW blog design! :) Like the impulsive person I am....I wanted a new blog design the moment I left the French Lick Blogger Meetup! I found the absolutely AMAZING Gabby from Gabby's Classrooms and she was so great to work with. Her design is absolutely fabulous and fits me to a T. She was so quick to show me a header preview and the process was so awesome! I am so glad I did some major blog stalking to find her! I am such a perfectionist and had many, many questions and tiny little fixes and she was FABULOUS!

TGIF! We had our first full week back to school since Spring Break and Easter week! It was a crazy, jam-packed week. We tested our brains and took our  final Acuity tests of the year! We also had a very special guest in our room. One of my former cheerleaders (who is growing up so fast as a high-schooler) decided to job shadow me on Wednesday. She was welcomed into education with a crazy amount of high fives and chatter from my lovely fifth graders! How could you not love her?!

If you have not tried GoNoodle. Open a new tab and try it NOW! It is such a fun website! We are so blessed to be able to build-in those super important brain breaks everyday. My kids love GoNoodle for brain breaks and indoor recess. We are huge fans of Pop See Ko!

I am so happy we have completed our How-To writing unit. It was so interesting to see what the kids chose, but also how they would do those different activities. We had everything form baking, to biking, to gaming, to sleeping. There was definitely a wide variety of creativity involved in these projects! When they finished, they were able to put it all together and add their illustrations. Here's one of my sweethearts working hard on her how-to booklet:

I am so excited for my first Five for Friday. This had to be my number 5 because it's one of the five things I've been looking forward to blogging about. This is such a fun concept and connects so many different teachers! I truly love reading each Five for Friday. It amazes me how different, but the same, everyone's weeks are!

What have been your favorite things from this week?

Peek at my Week {April 6th}

Whew! What a week back from Spring Break! We had some crazy moments and we had some stellar moments. It might have taken 3 days to have that stellar moment, but if I have learned anything, it's the little steps that get us to the big steps.

Mondays always seem to be the day where my kids need to get back into the swing of things...especially after an extended weekend. We have a week full of Acuity testing and an extra special visitor. I am SO excited for one of my previous cheerleaders to job shadow me! My kids are going to be so excited! :)

Here is a peek at my week!

I am so excited to start reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone with my class! I couldn't help but get excited when I was blog stalking Martina Cahill on Instagram. I was so excited when I saw the new special edition covers! I had to have the whole collection!

Have a great week!
